PEDIATRIC SPEECH-LANGUAGE THERAPY

Intervention options:

In-home early intervention 

for speech, language, fluency, feeding and swallowing for infants and children ages 0-3. Older children in this age group may be appropriate for online therapy with parent supervision.  

 

Online or in-home intervention

for speech, language, fluency, food selectivity, and swallowing for preschool and school-age children and adolescents.

For all pediatric clients, I focus on child-led therapy in which your child’s interests and strengths are the building blocks for improving expressive language, comprehension, motor speech, feeding, and swallowing. 

 

My services are also family-centered to include not only the client’s experience with their disorder, but also the effect it may have on interactions with other family members. When I work with your child, I’m also working on a team with you, the parent or caregiver.  

 

Sessions are 30-45 minutes in length and are in-person or online, depending on the developmental stage of the child and their needs. As much as possible, I will use toys and activities from your child’s surroundings to encourage carryover of therapy goals after the session has ended. 

 

I welcome parent involvement in sessions, which is an excellent way to practice or observe how to implement techniques after the session has ended. At the end of each session, I will check in with you, the parent or caregiver, to track progress and answer any questions you might have.

Parent training (may not be covered by insurance) 

Parent training sessions are an opportunity to discuss areas of concern, troubleshoot common obstacles, and learn new techniques for improving your child’s communication or feeding outside of the therapy session. This is a great option for parents who want extra help carrying over therapy goals to home activities, and for parents who have concerns, but want to “wait and see” before enrolling in therapy.
